Ok, I am not that terribly sad about it. We finished our final painting. I chose this beautiful flower. I dont think I have ever seen one in person before, and so I dont know the name. There were multiple flowers in the picture I chose from, but the thought of doing that many was pretty daunting. I instead cut out one of the flowers, and drew it Georgia O'Keeffe style.
We split doing this project over 2 classes. The first class I drew my flower and painted the background. The second class I spent painting the pedals. I outlined them, and then as my brush started to dry I would start to pull some light color into the middle. Then I had to mix some brown into that pink color and that made the shadow.
All in all, I beleive it was a sucess.
